Arizona Leaders Unite to Strengthen Education at School Connect Summit 2025

Annual event connects education, business, nonprofit, faith and community leaders to improve education outcomes for students

Phoenix, Ariz. (January 16, 2025) – School Connect, a statewide nonprofit committed to helping schools create community, will host its 10th Annual School Connect Summit, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona on February 10, 2025, at Footprint Center. The event will unite over 1,000 local leaders across education, nonprofit, business, faith, and civic sectors to inspire innovative funding and service solutions for Arizona students.

The Summit, themed “Unlock Your Genius,” will offer participants the opportunity to unleash their own genius and leadership potential with presentations by expert speakers, cross-sector networking opportunities, table discussions, breakout conversations, student-led insights, and inspirational success stories.

Former MLB center fielder and keynote speaker Chris Singleton will share his personal story of adversity to inspire attendees with his thoughts on unity, leadership, and the power of connection.

“When we started the Summit, we dreamed of creating a space where leaders across every sector of our communities could unite around education and support children across Arizona,” said Tracey Beal, Founder and CEO of School Connect. “The Summit serves as a launching point for hundreds of Arizona schools to address crucial issues such as literacy, chronic absenteeism, and volunteerism. Thank you to the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation and hundreds of community partners for making this event possible.”

“The Summit’s emphasis on collaboration between schools and communities aligns well with what research shows is essential for successful schools,” said Dr. Paul Tighe, Executive Director at Arizona School Administrators. “It’s not just about what happens inside the classroom – it’s about creating support around our schools and students.”

“The Summit is a catalyst for positive change in our education system,” said Debbie Kovesdy, CEO and Founder of GenTech, the Summit’s keynote sponsor. “We are looking forward to participating in the creative solutions and partnerships that will emerge from this gathering of dedicated educators and community leaders.”

“AZ Blue is proud to partner with School Connect to bring together educators, community leaders, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and innovation,” said Wash Covena, Staff Vice President of Commercial Verticals and Strategy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. “By coming together, we can make a significant impact on the educational landscape and help create a brighter future.”
