School Connect celebrates Rebecca Bhasme, STEM teacher from Willcox Middle School in the Willcox Unified School District for winning the 2024 Hero Maker Award. A self-proclaimed “science geek,” Rebecca Bhasme shares her love for learning in the classroom as she teaches and tutors students in all things STEM. Her vision is to help students see the need in the community and fulfill it, because Mrs. Bhasme believes that her students can learn and discover anything they can dream. They just need to have the desire to go out there to find it!

Deb Lupnacca Wins 2024 Founder’s Heart Award

Deb Lupnacca, Achievement Interventionist from the Washington Elementary School District, is honored for her work as a teacher and school champion who believes that leaders of all ages are just waiting to be discovered. She inspires young and old to be the change they want to see as she embodies the School Connect “Heart of a Founder” who paves the way for the next generation.

“Join me in celebrating these shining stars of the education community!”

Danielle Lerner, Journalist

“I appreciate School Connect’s dedication to public education and its willingness to recognize individuals who believe that every student must be engaged in meaningful real-life learning that meets their strengths and needs. It takes a village to do this work. Schools cannot do it alone. Thank you for taking the time to recognize the efforts of so many in our communities who make it happen for our kids.”

Marcie Hutchinson, President, Mesa Public Schools Governing Board
